To return to Welcome Page click here
1. Point your browser to http://pro.ccsd15.k12.il.us
2. Make sure that the school secretary has started an AS/400 session on her workstation. Print jobs are held in the AS/400 until a session is started.
3. The print options only display on the left side of the screen when you are entering grades by student. If it does not appear, then you must have the grading option set to subject. Change the grading option to student and the print options will appear.
4. Yes, you must save changes before you print. Otherwise the changes will not appear on the progress report. Click on the Save Report Card button before you click on the Print Report Card button.
5. The browser software puts a limit on the number of input boxes you can have on a single screen. Some of the subjects, especially on the K-3 progress reports, have many more input boxes than the browser can handle when all students are displayed. Those subject areas can only display a fixed number of students in a single screen. The "Next Page" button allows the next group of students to be displayed. Note that this does not occur in every subject.
6. The right side of the header bar of the student entry screen contains a box that allows you to change the grade level assignment for the coming school year. The default will always be the next grade level, so you only need to change those students that are not advancing. Note that this option only appears when you are working on the last grading period.
7. Attendance information is retrieved from the Student Management System database. Any errors should be reported to the building secretary.
8. The new comments section allows you to select specific comments from a list to add to a student's report card. You no longer have to type them.
9. This information is retrieved from the student record in the Student Management System database. Any errors should be reported to the building secretary.
10. Before you exit the browser, you must click on the "save report card" button to save the last information entered. Closing the browser does not automatically save your data. Remember also that if you leave your computer for more than 30 minutes when using the PRO application, the system will automatically log you off. Always save your data before leaving your computer. If you are going to be gone for a while, you should exit the application completely as a security precaution.
11. No. In order for them to do so, they would have to have every teacher’s password which would violate our password protection procedures.
12. No, it is not possible to change the font in this application.
13. Go to the Start page by either clicking on the button on the left side of a data entry screen or restarting the application. Select the term that you want to correct by changing the number in the term selection box. Make any other changes on this page to select the correct student or subject and then click on the Start button.
14. As long as it did not crash while you were working on progress reports, the answer is no. All of your progress report data is stored on the AS/400 system located at the ESC and is backed up for you. If you were working on progress reports when your computer crashed, the only data you have lost is what you entered since you last clicked on the Save Report Card button.
15. From any entry screen, click on the Return to Start Page at the lower left side of the screen. This will take you back to the Start Page. If any data has been entered and not saved you will be prompted to do so at this point. Once you get to the Start Page, click on the Logout button. Never leave the application by just closing the browser! There is no way to save data when you do this, and any unsaved data will be lost. Always return to the Start Page first.
16. Select the comment you want to remove by clicking on it in the 'Selected Comments' box. Then click on the Remove button.
17. Never use the BACK button once you are in the application. Use the navigation buttons on the left side of the screen to return to the start page or to log in and log out.
18. Never leave the progress report system running when you are busy elsewhere. Not only is it a security risk, your session will probably time-out and you will have to re-start anyway.
19. If the drop-down boxes for the grades appear as grayed-out areas, you have not lost your grades. Your browser is just not displaying them correctly. Log out and shut down your browser and your computer. Re-start. If they still do not display correctly, try using a different browser (Internet Explorer seems to work best and you can download it from the PRO welcome page.)
20. It is OK if the student is still on your list. If he/she is no longer enrolled in your class, do nothing. When you print your progress reports, you will get one for that student for grades you may have entered previously. You can put it in the student's folder or throw it away. The student will appear in your list until the end of the term in which he/she withdrew.
21. This usually means that you have typed more than 50 characters into the topic section for Science or Social Studies. Check your topic and count the characters. Remember that a space is a character.
