Text Box: These pictures are of our calendar corner. We will do calendar and many math activities here. We also read many books together as a class in this spot. We also have posted our addition and subtraction strategies and poems to help us remember the value of coins. Text Box: This is our classroom library. We have many great books to choose from! In our library, we can choose a good fiction or non-fiction book and curl up with a pillow and a stuffed animal friend to read. We can also write about our favorite books, too! Text Box: To the left is our word wall and word work station. We learn new words each week which we can read and spell. These words are placed on our word wall at the end of each week. We spend time practicing words we know in the word work station. Text Box: To the left are the words in our new vocabulary program. Each word has a picture to go along with it. Students learn 6 new vocab words each week. Text Box: We proudly display our finished projects in the hallway. Above is our bulletin board with our mission statements on it. Each student chose a particular goal to work towards and then wrote his or her plan to achieve that goal. Below the board are our Chicka Chica Boom Boom Trees that we made after reading the story. To the left are our bears that we colored and wrote about after reading the story Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Text Box: On our cabinets we have words posted that go along with each month of the year. There are many words posted all around our room. Text Box: This is the bulletin board that is displayed at the front of our classroom. To celebrate the new school year, there are photos of each student in our class on the board along with a short biography of each child. Text Box: The picture to the right shows some of our graphs we use to collect class data. Students are constantly kept aware of their progress through graphing.
