Purpose:
To provide children with an outdoor educational experience
and make both children and parents environmentally aware—by
involving them in taking care of their own environment.---making
it a better place.
The four acheivable goals written for the grant proposal:
- To develop an awareness and enjoyment of the
beauty and wonder of the natural world by exposing children and
their parents to natural environments in and outside the classroom.
- To promote awareness of concepts of life cycles,
diversity and interconnectedness in nature by manipulating natural
objects, using scientific tools, and making observations of living
and non living things.
- To strengthen our knowledge and the children’s
that people are a part of the natural world and not separate from
it by acknowledging and noting the active participation and willingness
to participate in pre and post activities and in the field trip
experience itself.
- To increase the children’s and their parents
understanding of how they can contribute to the well-being of
the earth.
