Welcome to kindergarten! Each day, we look forward to the fun experiences and learning opportunities ahead. It truly is a learning adventure each and every day. Our academic goals and exploration activities are planned to stimulate learning in all developmental areas- physical, social, emotional and intellectual. These experiences provide your child with the opportunity to work individually, in small groups, and in whole group settings. Our goal is to help your child reach the academic goals of kindergarten which in turn will help build his/her self esteem and positive attitudes towards school and learning! It certainly can be fun! Creating this love for learning is our ultimate goal.

Language Arts
We focus on reading and writing throughout our day and introduce the children to a wide variety of literature through our thematic units. Children actively participate in a variety of language based activities including, but not limited to, phonics, spelling, vocabulary and comprehension. Children are provided opportunities for both teacher directed and student selected writing experiences.

Mathematics
The kindergarten math program is based upon hands-on learning experiences which rely upon the dialogue, discussion, experimentation and discovery that takes place during our activities. Through our thematic units, we investigate numbers, counting, measuring and graphing. Children gain experiences with patterning, money, telling time and estimation. These are just a few of the topics we explore throughout the year as we continue to focus on accepting and finding multiple ways to solve problems
