About Myself
Hello! This is my fourth year teaching third grade at Lincoln School. Previously, I taught at 3rd grade at Lake Louise School in Palatine and May Whitney School in Lake Zurich. I received my Bachelor's degree in English from Loyola University of Chicago, and recently earned my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Roosevelt University.

Homework
On average, 3rd graders in District 15 are assigned approximately 30 minutes of homework per night. Expect your child to have homework Monday through Thursday. Aside from special projects or make-up work, I will not normally assign homework over the weekend. Watch for the Assignment Notebook to come home each day.  Please sign it in the appropriate space when your child finishes the assignments. Unless otherwise stated, homework is always due the next day.

Reading
Every day, I want your child to READ, READ, READ! It is important that he or she reads at least 20 minutes each night. This is in addition to any homework that may be assigned. Try to designate a special reading time each night, possibly after dinner or at bedtime. Your child may read aloud to you, read independently, or listen as you read to him or her. Please contact me if you need reading materials for your child and I will make arrangements to send something appropriate.

Communication
Communication is the key to our successful partnership in your child's learning. Weekly Progress Reports and Parent-Teacher Conferences are only small parts of the process. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me by telephone, note, or e-mail. I check my voice mail in the morning, at lunchtime, and at the end of the day, and I will return calls as soon as possible.
